My wife and I have decided the course of our future together. We have very similar goals that complement each other, which is further proof that we are meant to be together. One of those goals is finding the perfect place to live within a few years. Right now, we are living in the guest house that her parents own, and they are being supportive in our search for the perfect home. We see developments throughout the different areas we are in since we are very social, and the New Futura condo development is the first to really catch our eye.
We had looked at others, of course, but we knew that none of them were for us. (more…)
I promised myself that the next time a president is elected for a first term in office that I would keep a record of all the good and bad attributed to his or her administration. Well, I was not expecting our new president to be Donald J. Trump, but that is okay. My tracking was going to be whether I voted for the person or not. This article is not about my vote, as I just mentioned I was surprised he won, not whether I voted for him or not. A great resource for me is President Trump news at a website that is all about news reports on his administration. I am not talking about the fluff stuff. I mean real reporting about actual decisions he is making, and the things he is saying.
I separate the reports into favorable and unfavorable. I even have a section for extremes of decision making for the better or worse that is based on my my own criteria that comes from my own political ideology. I admit that my leanings are very independent even though I am registered to vote with one of the two major parties. (more…)
When I was a kid I had a hard time saying Massachusetts in grade school. I’m still not sure I say it perfectly well! I can remember my teacher breaking it down into the various syllables and having me say it slowly. When I could say it slowly, she would ask me to say it fast. Then I would mess up. Though I might never be able to say it with a refined Boston accent, I really like living here. Recently my wife and I were looking for apartments in Arlington MA to live close to Cambridge but not right in it. (more…)
Sometimes finding an apartment is all about location. No different than when you are buying a home, where you live needs to be convenient to the places you need to get to. At times in an expensive city like Boston, size and amenities have to be sacrificed in an apartment search in order to get a place in the best location, but there are other options that renters can sometimes overlook that are ideal. For many, choosing apartments for Boston area is tied to the commute they make to work. This is the case whether you drive or take public transportation. Both can be lengthy commutes, though driving is almost always the more taxing option which is why people like to live close to the T when possible. The good news in Boston is that though so much of what renters want access to is in the city center, public transportation is available in the greater area, so looking just outside of the city can be a good option for many looking for more bank for their buck along with a bit more space.
Boston is a vibrant city with a lot of great history, events, shopping, and restaurants, not to mention the sports. It makes people want to live right in the middle of the city. Although this is understandable, living just outside in an area like Revere, is something to consider as well. When you leave the city limits, you can gain other things. More space per square footage at a more reasonable monthly rent is a big bonus. Just a few miles outside of the city, an area like Revere offers something that the city cannot in most locations – an oceanfront apartment with amazing views. Although not perfect for every renter, many will find the setting beautiful and serene. And still close to the city, the airport and located near public transit. When looking for your next place, make sure you are broadening the scope of your search.
You would think living in Singapore would make it easy to get around. It isn’t and that is why I looked into Seaside Residences at the suggestion of my boss after I arrived at work late once again due to my current living arrangements. I live in an isolated area of the city, isolated being a relative term here, but I don’t have a lot of quick transportation options. I have to walk a considerable distance to catch a bus and then switch buses a few times to get to work. If I miss one bus, I’m always late.
The boss suggested I move into a place that is not only nice, but located much closer to work. (more…)
I wanted to learn more about energy providers here in Texas. It was the first time I was actually allowed to make a decision based on which one I wanted rather than someone telling me what I had to take. If there is one thing that I really like, it is the freedom of choice. Even when it is something like the company that provides the electricity to my house, I want to take full advantage of my opportunity to choose. While I was really looking forward to this, I also knew that I did not have a lot of time, because I wanted to have the power on by the time I moved in. (more…)
Living in the Lone Star State sure has its benefits. I’ve lived all over the state including Plano, Laredo, Houston, and Dallas. The one thing that’s been consistent in all of those places is the freedom I’ve had to choose my own energy plan. Living in a state where energy is deregulated sure is a nice benefit. When I first had to sign up for electricity service, I went to http://texaselectricityrates.org/stream-energy-tx/ for details about the services offered and the rates I could expect to pay. I had two options. I could either call them for more information, or I could fill out a brief form. I decided to give them a call.
The representative I spoke with was very friendly. She asked me for my name, phone number, and ZIP Code, and then proceeded to tell me all about my options. (more…)
I wanted a way to make better looking paystubs for my employees. I only have two, but they need official paystubs to do things like get a loan or prove employment. I found a check stub maker online that is very inexpensive to use. I do not have to buy an accounting software suite to use it. I still use this freeware accounting program I have had for years. It works for my needs. I just needed a way to add payroll to it. Specifically, I needed a way to make professional paystubs for my employees. I put in the numbers, and the thing makes paystubs I can print out on my printer using regular paper.
I use it once every two weeks when I sign the checks. I put the check and the paystub in an envelope for each employee. They are happy to have regular paystubs now. I even have our store logo as part of the stub. (more…)
Women have had difficulty with hygiene issues due to their anatomy and the natural processes of their reproductive system. From the onset of menstruation to menopause, the lining of the uterus is expelled through the vagina every month. The blood rich lining is nutrients for the egg waiting to be fertilized. Periods can be painful as well as messy. Being seen with blood on clothing, or leaving blood where sitting can be socially awkward to say the least. Then there are yeast infections. Everything from vinegar douches to Indonesian Crystal X are offered to treat them. However, science indicates that their cause can be associated with anything from diet to high blood glucose levels. Yeast like a steady diet of sugar. Then they thrive in a warm and moist environment. The vagina is the perfect environment when its acidic level changes. Too much sugar in the diet or sustained elevated blood glucose levels can be a root cause. (more…)
A good friend of mine told me not long ago that she was having problems with anxiety. I have naturally experience anxiety myself, as I think it is a common enough thing for anyone to go through. I did not have any experience with it on a daily basis though, and I wanted to learn more about it so I would be able to help her out too. I did a search and one of the websites was available to find it here in more detail. When I went there, I was able to learn all kinds of things about anxiety that I just was not aware of before this.
For a person who has normal anxiety over an upcoming academic test or waiting to hear back from a doctor after a medical test, or even waiting to see if the cute guy you dated for the first time last week calls for a second date, it is a different kind of anxiety than what someone who experiences it constantly feels.
